Download the Course Workbook
Workbook Overview
This course uses one workbook from start to finish. Every exercise you complete in the course lives in that single document, organized to mirror the course sections and lessons. Your job is straightforward: as you progress through the course, you open the workbook to the matching section, complete the prompts, and steadily build the inputs that become your Executive Debt Mitigation Plan.
Start by downloading the workbook to your device. Do not fill it out inside the embedded course/PDF viewer. Many embedded viewers do not reliably save what you type. Download first, open it in a PDF app that supports fillable forms, and save your file as you work. If you already started typing into an embedded viewer, re-enter those responses into the downloaded file to avoid losing work.
Each time you begin a lesson that includes a workbook activity, scroll to the workbook section with the same label (for example, “Section 6 | Lesson 3”). Complete the prompts in order. Write in complete thoughts, not keywords. The workbook is designed to capture decisions and commitments, not just notes.
You will also see prompts labeled “Transcribe to Final Plan.” That label is important. It means your response is not just a worksheet answer, it is plan material. When you see it, copy your response into the Executive Debt Mitigation Plan section in the back of the workbook (Section 11 | Lesson 3). The “Final Plan → …” breadcrumb tells you exactly where it belongs. If you keep up with those transcriptions as you go, you will not have to rebuild your plan at the end. You will simply refine it.
Expect to revisit earlier answers. As you learn more, your thinking will sharpen and you may change your priorities, owners, metrics, or timelines. That is normal. This workbook is meant to behave like a living operating document, not a one-time assignment.
By the time you finish the course, you should have two outcomes: (1) a set of completed section exercises that explain what is happening and why, and (2) a consolidated Executive Debt Mitigation Plan that is ready to run with your leadership team.
Important Note
The PDF viewer embedded in Teachable is view-only. Any text you type into a PDF inside the embedded viewer will not be saved. To keep your work, download the PDF to your device, open it in a proper PDF app, complete it there, and save.
How to download and complete the PDFs
Windows (PC)
- Download the worksheet (don’t type in the embedded viewer).
- Click the PDF/worksheet link in the lesson.
- Choose Download, or right-click the link and select “Save link as…”.
- Save it to Downloads or to a folder you can easily find.
- Open the downloaded PDF in a PDF app (not your browser).
- Best option: Adobe Acrobat Reader (free).
- If it keeps opening in Chrome/Edge:
- Right-click the PDF file → Open with → Adobe Acrobat (or Foxit) → Always.
- Fill in the fields and save.
- Type into the form fields.
- Save: Ctrl+S or File → Save.
- If you want a clean original: File → Save As and rename (example: “S6L3_Operational_Drag_YourName.pdf”).
- Confirm it saved.
- Close the PDF fully, reopen it, and verify your entries are still there.
macOS (Mac)
- Download the worksheet (don’t type in the embedded viewer).
- Click the PDF/worksheet link.
- If it opens in a browser tab, use the download icon or File → Save As to save it.
- Open the downloaded PDF in a PDF app.
- Most reliable: Adobe Acrobat Reader (free).
- Alternative: Preview (built-in). Preview works for many PDFs, but if fields don’t work or entries don’t persist, switch to Adobe Reader.
- Fill in the fields and save.
- Save: Command+S or File → Save.
- To preserve a clean original: File → Save As (Adobe) or File → Duplicate (Preview), then rename.
- Confirm it saved.
- Close the PDF, reopen it, and verify your entries are still there.
Android
- Download the worksheet.
- Tap the PDF/worksheet link in the lesson.
- Use the download/save option (often a download arrow or menu) and save it to your device.
- Open the file in a PDF app that supports saving form entries.
- Recommended: Adobe Acrobat Reader (mobile) or Xodo PDF.
- Fill in the fields and save.
- Enter text in the fields.
- Use Save or Save a copy (wording varies by app). If prompted, choose a location in Files/Drive.
- Confirm it saved.
- Close the PDF, reopen it, and verify your entries are still there.
iOS (iPhone/iPad)
- Download the worksheet.
- Tap the PDF/worksheet link.
- Tap Share/Export → “Save to Files” and choose a folder (e.g., On My iPhone/iPad or iCloud Drive).
- Open the PDF from the Files app in a PDF app.
- Recommended: Adobe Acrobat Reader (mobile) or PDF Expert (paid).
- You can also try opening in Files/Preview, but if entries don’t save consistently, use Adobe.
- Fill in the fields and save.
- Enter text in the fields.
- Use Save / Save a copy. If you used “Save to Files” first, confirm it’s saving back to Files (same folder).
- Confirm it saved.
- Close the PDF, reopen it from Files, and verify your entries are still there.
Quick Troubleshooting (when entries don’t stick)
If your text disappears after closing:
- You likely typed in the Teachable embedded viewer or a viewer that doesn’t save form entries. Download the PDF, open it in a PDF app (Adobe/Xodo/Foxit/PDF Expert), then save.
If you can’t type into any fields:
- Try a different app (Adobe Acrobat Reader is the most reliable).
If the PDF opens in your browser and won’t save inputs:
- Download the file and open it from your device storage in a PDF app (not in Chrome/Safari/Edge’s built-in viewer).
If you saved, but the entries still aren’t there:
- Make sure you used Save (not just “back” or closing the tab).
- Use Save As / Save a copy to create a new file, then reopen that new file to confirm.
If the file won’t overwrite or keeps reverting:
- Save a copy with a new filename in a folder you control (Downloads/Files), not a temporary location.
